We are excited to offer this long-awaited gem from Nepal. This is a relatively new plantation established in 1996 on the foothills of the Himalayas about 75 km north of Kathmandu. Originally the seeds of this coffee came from Papua New Guinea (hence its very smooth nature)
The plantation’s environmental commitment to the land (soil conservation) and the forests (reforestation) has brought back various species such as birds and leopards. Nepalese coffee is grown at very high altitudes in alkaline soil, is shade-grown and organic.
We roast it to a medium profile and you can easily discern the tannins at the top of the mouth and curling towards the sides. Not overly heavy, very clean. Interesting lingering, smooth finish.
