The Li Maya cooperative, formed in 1996, integrates 318 producers involving 21 communities in the jungle. They farm 627 hectares of organic coffee which supports 250 Chiapas families. Each farm averages 2 hectares per producer. Most of the members are indigenous Tojze and speak Tzotzil. This is also a Café Feminino project with group initiatives that promote the environment and community.
