What is the difference between single origin and blended coffee? Why blend coffee in the first place? What is specialty coffee? A single origin coffee originates from one country; blended coffees combine two or more single origins and create a new specific taste profile. Our mouths can differentiate richness, floral and fruity notes, spicy and sharp flavours and a great blend will find a pleasing balance. Specialty coffee is grown at higher elevations, is traceable and more carefully harvested for quality control and with the aim to improving quality over time. We buy only specialty coffees which are graded a minimum of 80 out of 100 points.
